CarHeat estimates cabin temperature from weather and your car properties. It is informational only. It is not a measurement, not a safety alarm, and not a substitute for common sense or local law. Never leave a child, pet, or vulnerable person inside a parked car for any length of time, regardless of what CarHeat shows.
By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and run one copy of CarHeat on a device you own or control, for personal non-commercial use.
If you got CarHeat from the Apple App Store, Apple Licensed Application End-User Licence Agreement also applies as a minimum standard.
Cars heat up faster than most people expect. Children, infants, elderly adults, and animals can be permanently harmed by short exposures to a hot cabin. CarHeat is meant to help you make smarter decisions about your own parked car. It is not designed to be, and must not be used as:
The cabin temperature estimate is the steady-state output of a physics-inspired model calibrated against published parked-car research. It uses weather conditions for your location, properties you entered for your car, and a fixed set of coefficients. It does not measure your actual car. Conditions you did not enter (recent driving, open windows, sun direction, parking surface) can move the real temperature up or down.
Treat the estimate as a guide, not a guarantee. If the estimate looks low and the car feels hot, trust the car.
You agree not to reverse-engineer or decompile the app (except where local law allows), tamper with the Service, upload malicious code, violate any law, or use the Service for any safety-critical or life-safety purpose.
CarHeat does not ask you to register or hand over an email. On first launch the app derives a stable identifier from your device. You are responsible for keeping your device secure. See the Privacy Policy for what data we handle and how to get it deleted.
The Shop tab lists third-party products. Some links are affiliate links and we may earn a commission if you buy after clicking. This is disclosed here and in the app. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra. We do not endorse, sell, or ship the products ourselves.
CarHeat, its logo, design, source code, and content are owned by us. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE HEAT ESTIMATES ARE ACCURATE FOR YOUR SPECIFIC CAR.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED USD 50. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including gross negligence, fraud, death, or personal injury.
You agree to indemnify us from any claim, loss, or expense arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or for security or legal reasons.
We may change the Service without notice. We may update these Terms; when we do, we will update the date above and flag material changes in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws where the operator of the Service is established, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country say otherwise. Any dispute will first be attempted informally by emailing carheat26@gmail.com.
